Sharktooth Compact Pro

I concur with Brooks-Range as these shovels are a necessary companion for avalanche and backcountry travel. Choosing your color is always a treat with their wide selection to choose from. In the mail I received the smoke colored Sharktooth. Immediately I could note this tool will not only suffice for conquering ice and compacted snow, but perfect for those times when a makeshift snow cave is warranted. 

The compact version tested easily fit into my external pocket on my backpack as it broke down to shaft, D handle and blade.   The shaft extends to a touch above 3 feet and compacts to roughly 27 inches. The premium tempered aluminum provided superb strength as the serrated edge remained quite sharp after repeated abuse.
