Express Stove Ii with Piezo Ignitor
Quality/Durability: There is no qualms with its size, weight, or sturdiness. This stove is made to last. Unlike many stoves which comes with repair kits for that unexpected time it may fail, I was not concerned about its ability. It’s quick to set up, easy to screw on the gas cartridge, and away we go. Constructed out of titanium for weight reduction and strength, it proved to be a robust product. The foldout titanium support arms have never bent and swivel back into place after use quite easily. The flame was powerful enough to boil water in less than 5 minutes at an elevation of 9600ft.
Function: This lightweight miniature stove is made for ultralight endeavors in the backcountry. In low wind conditions, this stove works incredibly well. The microburner fired up at first snap of the piezo ignitor without difficulty. On a gully where the wind had a good clip to it, it failed miserably. I was able to rig the windscreen to protect the flame once lit, however using a liter or matches to start it was a must. Since there is no time needed to burn off the fuel from the chamber like some other stoves, this was not a concern to lite using accessory fire. One plus to this stove is the ability to simmer. I have used many stoves prior to testing this one and found it easy to reduce the flame and keep a low heat just perfectly enough to cook my favorite cinnamon buns. Of course, a fireworks much better for this desert, but I recently traveled to a burn ban area and was forced to adapt. Still turned out amazing. Thanks Express Ti.
