Bow Stalker Gloves - Manzella
The bow stalker is made precisely with the hunter in mind. The gloves are made of a light material to allow for a snug fit for dexterity and functionality while protecting the hands from extreme elements.
I was able to take these gloves out in 12 separate trials. I rode an ATV scouting for turkeys the first day, hiking through canyons and ridges. It was about 45 degrees, overcast morning with winds blowing at 10-15mph. I was surprised how they cut the wind especially for as thin as the material is. On another day, I also rode the ATV and hiked. That day called for snow flurries, wind and was about 35 degrees. I really noticed the mobility and dexterity of the gloves. The gloves kept my hands warm even while gripping the handle bars of the ATV. I hiked on a goat packing trip in Canyon Country on three separate occasions, in a variety of weather conditions ranging from 33-45 degrees, and even experienced some rain on one of the rips. The gloves performed well. I went shooting my bow at 3-D targets on a cloudy, 51 degree weather and the glove was easy to use with a release. On the next trip, it was cold, windy and snowing. It was 37 degrees out and a perfect day for turkey hunting. The only drawback I experienced that day, was that it was windy and the opening for a release allowed wind in on the hand without the release - a small problem overall. I went again on a 55 degree, clear day hunting turkeys and the gloves performed great. I went target shooting two other times in 60 degree weather and the gloves performed fine.
I spend a great deal of time outdoors in all weather conditions so I try to have equipment that can pass the test. Besides hunting, I like hiking, fishing, camping, backpacking and have been doing so in Colorado all of my life. I have been bow hunting for 36 years. I also guide for an outfitter during the rifle seasons.
Back to the gloves - I was mostly impressed with how warm these gloves are and I understand these were in the "warmer" and not the "warmest" of their selection. They performed well in various weather conditions. The material on the index finger is somewhat slick and could use the control dots. Overall, the Stalker Gloves fit nice and snug which allows you to do what you like to do with great ease and mobility while having your hands protected. These gloves are now part of my standard outdoor gear that goes with me every time I go out.
