Airforce 1 - X-Socks
When first introduced to the X-Socks line of socks, I thought this was something right out of a Terminator flick. I guess because they're presented in such a way that leaves you intrigued. After a quick overview of the sock I was even more confused, or surprised I should say, because I never knew the thought process that went into making a sock just right for trekking! But one thing was for sure, if there was a better way to protect my feet on Treks, hikes or casual strolls I was very interested, because the countless times my feet paid the price with socks that could not stand up to the test came to mind.
The first thing I noticed was the big clear markings on each sock which is a great thing and the bright orange tip of each sock. This was also a great thing, because it will never get matched with another sock, ever. The fit was very comfortable and quite snug, not tight to the point of loss of circulation, but just a general great feeling of comfort.
After multiple trips I must admit this is the best condition my feet have been in during and after my hikes. The AirForce 1 socks are the first socks I can really say that have given me an advantage on the trail. I attribute this to its unique design and superior features. My favorite feature was definitely the AirConditioning-Channel. I like to go on some pretty rugged hikes, with that comes friction and usually blisters and over-heating. I was very surprised with the air flow and circulation my feet were able to receive despite the fact these are some pretty heavy duty socks. I usually can count on drenching wet socks at the end of my hikes, but my feet actually stayed comfortably dry with the AirForce 1. I rarely gave choosing a proper sock a second thought before, but what a benefit, when the right sock is chosen for the job!
Most of my money and energy go toward the quality of boots or shoes I wear. I've worn the thick bulky socks to keep my feet warm and to keep them from blistering, but I have discovered that a quality boot is just part of the solution and equally important is the quality of socks you wear inside those boots. It's the socks that provide the overall difference on your feet, especially if you are spending hours in natures elements. Comfort and less stress are just some of the added advantages I gained by having both.
Wash after wash, these socks have kept their shape and snug fit. I even enjoy wearing them around the house when it's cold, just because I enjoy how comfortable and snug they fit! Final conclusion, the X-Socks AirForce1 Trekking sock gives an added advantage that other socks don’t and provide your feet the best chance to survive under any conditions, time after time.
