Wilderness Trails Ranch is the ideal vacation holiday for kids from 3 to 83. Families, grandparents and grandkids, couples and singles have been creating unsurpassed memories at our dude and guest ranch, near Durango, in southwestern Colorado since 1970.

A Colorado guest ranch vacation holiday doesn't mean you have to rough it! Our mountain cabins are a delight to come back to after a day of fun and adventure.

Our clean, well-appointed, rustic cabins are nestled amongst pines, fir, spruce and aspen trees.

WTR features a broad menu each week of made to order breakfasts, varied lunch specials always with plenty of fruits and salads and of course, exceptional gourmet dinners ranging from our famous cowboy steak & fish cookouts, to our succulent Prime Rib, Mexican, Italian and Mediterranean specialties.

 

We have a full liqour license and we stock a variety of beers, wines, and cocktails.  Each evening begins with a happy hour and appetizers in the Watering Hole. Kid friendly food is always available to cater to younger tastes. Low carb or other special dietary needs? No problem. Our Chefs can prepare anything you need with a little advance notice. Feel free to contact us with your requests and we'll be happy to accommodate.

 

Evenings at WTR are filled with classic western entertainment. Hop on the hayride and get a first hand taste of true "horsepower." Kick up your heels at the dance or just sit back and enjoy one of the finest country bands in west. Don't dance? Don't worry! At WTR you'll get dance lessons along with your riding lessons. Spend another evening staring into the fire, roasting marshmellows, and singing along with our cowboy guitarist. Learn to rope or play "western" bocci before relaxing on your private deck watching the sun slowly set over the Rockies. You'll never see so many stars again....

 

Relaxation -Unwind and melt into your vacation soaking up the Colorado sunshine on the deck of our 72-foot heated pool or soaking in the hottub. Immerse yourself in your latest book from your favorite piece of seclusion. If you love to sketch, paint or photograph, you will find an abundance of inspiring material in every direction.

Start your day off right with a complementary morning yoga class or a refreshing walk or jog up the valley. Enjoy a steaming cup of locally roasted gourmet coffee in the dining room or on the front deck of the lodge as the sun slowly illuminates and awakens the valley.

 

Scenic Drive - If you don’t ride, or you’d just like a respite from the saddle, join us for a guided driving tour and picnic on nearby Middle Mountain. This trip features great wildlife, wild flower, and high alpine viewing. Choose the scenic 5 mile hike back to the ranch or extend your leisure and ride back with your guide.

Massage and Spa Treatments - Our talented in-house massage therapist, Tricia Bordman, joins WTR for her fourth summer! Tricia tailors every spa or massage treatment to your personal needs and preferences. Choose from 30-90 minute treatments of therapeutic or deep tissue massage, hot stone massage, salt and sugar scrubs, facials, and more. Appointments can be arranged after you arrive at the ranch!
