King Mountain Ranch Resort is a Dude and Guest Ranch located high in the Colorado Rockies completely surrounded by the Arapaho National Forest. Select from many great activities including horseback riding, fly fishing, sport shooting, boating, camping, an exceptional children's program, indoor heated pool, cookouts and evening entertainment. All activities are offered in a casual western setting which allows your family, group, or corporate retreat to set the pace of your own vacation.
LODGING
The Lodge
The two lodges at King Mountain Ranch Resort house 34 rooms containing either a King size or two Double beds. Our rooms boast a spectacular view of the Buffalo Valley and the surrounding mountain views. Many of our rooms have an outside entrance from a large redwood deck. Plenty of deck space for lounging and relaxing. Each room has a private bath. We also have adjoining rooms, ideal for families. All of our rooms are non-smoking.
The King House
This is a beautiful secluded lodge perfect for families and groups. It has 8 bedrooms on three floors, with a bathroom on each floor and can house up to 20 people. Enjoy a spacious living area along with a beautiful stone fireplace, full size kitchen and laundry facilities. Our rooms do not have TVs or telephones. There are many phones located throughout the main lodge. We have some computers for guest use too.

At King Mountain Ranch, we encourage you to customize your own ranch vacation by offering the opportunity to choose from many structured events available every day, or enjoy other unstructured activities at your leisure. You may be as active or relaxed as you’d like each day and still spend quality time with family and friends all while enjoying many different and fun-filled activities not found at other ranches. Ranch Dining
King Mountain Ranch Resort sets itself apart with our attention to healthy, creative and varied menus all with individual plated meals. Our team of culinary professionals will prepare upper class meals, with a western flare for a truly memorable vacation experience.
Our breakfasts include either cooked to order breakfast options or a special order omelet station. Each breakfast also has an assortment of breakfast cereals, fresh fruits, and baked goods for an energized start to your day. Chef Pope makes a great biscuits and gravy that our staff can't get enough of.
Lunches feature hearty hot lunch choices with a variety of homemade soups and salads. Lunches are usually severed buffet style and can range from a full western BBQ, or one of our themed meals. Maybe it will be Asian stir fry, or an Italian pasta spread, or maybe several different Creole dishes, or you can always have an old fashion sandwich. Whatever you have for lunch, you can count on the fact that it will be a well balanced meal and will provide you with enough energy for the afternoon's activities.Dinners at KMR are an event in themselves. We start with appetizers in our lounge and then move upstairs for dinner starting with a mixed green salad, homemade soups and outstanding entrees. Almost all of our dinners are served plated, with close attention to presentation. Our dining room provides spectacular views of the ranch and valley beyond, and the night mountain chill is broken by a fire in one of our huge fireplaces.
