2009 Colorado Football Camps

Coach HawkinsIn our fourth year under Dan Hawkins and 27th overall, our football camps have become among the nation’s best.  The strengths of our camp include the coaching staff we assemble, our player to coach ratio (10-1), and our emphasis on teaching.  The majority of our schedule is spent on the field in actual game situations. Additional practice time is dedicated for the teaching and drilling of fundamentals and techniques of each position – the same things the Colorado Buffaloes are taught! You will also learn about the importance of Blue Collar Work Ethic, Toughness, Trust, Hard Work, Excellence, Selflessness, Integrity, Passion, Leadership, Discipline, and Details – The CORE VALUES that have made Colorado a CHAMPIONSHIP program.

We Offer Six Camps that provide instruction and are open to any and all campers, limited only by the number of campers, age and gender:

Youth Camp:  For 6-13 year-olds (Two Separate Camp Sessions)
June 8th – 10th, 2009 (Morning Session – 8am to Noon)
June 10th – 12th, 2009 (Afternoon Session – 1pm to 5pm)
This high-energy non-contact camp allows younger football players to develop and learn techniques at all positions from the CU Coaches and many of the current Colorado football players (NEW in 2009).  Passing, punting, blocking, running, tackling, catching, kicking, returning, and defending are all skills that are emphasized during the three days of camp.  Additionally, campers will learn the value of teamwork as they utilize their new skills and compete within their age group in our fast-paced games of Buff-Ball.  No pads are needed – just workout clothing (shirt, shorts, shoes) and a GREAT attitude.
High School Passing Jamboree: TEAMS ONLY
June 13th, 2009 (8am – 4pm)
Guaranteed 4 or 5 games (depends on the amount of teams) – Mini-Clinic by position.  Team Fee of $250.00 (Includes 20 T-Shirts and Lunch for 20).  There will be a scoring system set with realistic game tempo.  No Helmets or Shoulder Pads will be used for the Passing Jamboree.

Big Man's OL/DL Camp: Individual skills camp for O/D Linemen
June 13th, 2009 (8am – 4pm)

High School Camp:  For Teams/Individuals entering 9th – 12th grades
June 15th – 18th, 2009 (Day and Overnight Campers)
The High School full-contact camp is designed to prepare individuals and teams for their upcoming high school season.  Colorado position coaches will conduct individual and group drills throughout the designated six practice sessions.  Teams will compete in controlled scrimmages in the first five practice sessions and have the opportunity for a live scrimmage during the sixth practice session (campers coming alone will be placed on teams that will be coached by Colorado Coaches).  A 7-on-7 tournament will take place each night after dinner and movies, basketball, dodge-ball, ice-games, and swimming will round out each evening of camp.  Football pads are required – helmets and shoulder pads only are available for rent.
CU Kicking Camp featuring Paul Assad and Kent Riddle

Additionally, coach Assad has worked with over 25 NFL starters including Mason Crosby, former CU standout and NFL leading scorer his rookie season. The camp will include 6 practice sessions, lifting/stretching work-outs, film evaluation, and competitive non-kicking events after dinner.   Movies, basketball, dodge-ball, ice-games, and swimming will round out each evening of camp.  No Helmets or Shoulder Pads will be used for the Kicking Camp.
