Modular Hauler Deluxe 3 Storage System
The Modular Hauler Deluxe 3 Storage System from Mountainsmith is incredibly useful for any outing. We ventured outdoors twice before using this storage system, but decided to get out for a day of kayaking and swimming on this day. I was able to seperate items we planned to use such as clean towels, snacks and misc things like a frisbee and football. Of course there is a million ways to pack, and I felt very organized at the beginning of the trip as I had before.
The items didn't seem to shift around while in route because each cube was zipped up and secured inside the main compartment. When it came time to use the towels, I took them out of one of the cubes. At the end of the day, however, I didn't want to put them back in the cube, so I took two cubes out of the main compartment and put the dirty towels in along with the trash bag, dirty football, frisbee and wet clothes. There was still room for one of the cubes which had paper towels and other kitchen items. The other two cubes had the snacks so I zipped them up and packed them seperately. I appreciated the fact that the cubes do not have to stay in the main compartment and can be zipped up, because sometimes packing at the beginning of a trip is completely different when packing at the end of a trip!
The main compartment has an incredibly rugged rubber bottom that is waterproof. It was set down on rocks and tugged around a bit each time someone was looking through it. Once it's open, the main compartment stays open whether the smaller cubes are in it or not. It has a quilted exterior and a yellow interior to make it easy to locate items.
Each cube is a different color and each zips up and have carrying handles pretty much like a tote bag. They all have top loading for easy access and are lined with the same yellow interior for easy visibility. Mountainsmith has a three and a four storage systems. The main compartment when full and ready to be transported has side reinforced handles for a two-person carry or front padded reinforced handles for a one-person carry. We sampled the three storage system which is 15" x 25" x 15" and holds 550 cubic inches of storage.
I no longer have little ones at home, but this system sure would have been helpful when loading two toddler
s and all their belongings on our weekend trip to grandma's! Or when they got older and heavily involved with sports.
The uses for this system of course are endless, but the big appreciation that I had for it is that it is rugged and is made for the outdoors, so I know it's good for a long, long time. Whether you are a climber, biker, camper, fisherman or other outdoors person, this modular system can keep your items seperate, but together in one place. It travels well, and even has tie down loopes to secure it on any vehicle. It is also collapsable, which means it doesn't take much storage space.
