LATIGO RANCH is secluded and small (35 guests) - the perfect size to create a sense of "family comin' home". We specialize in memories. Whether it’s our mountains, our trails, our staff, our food or our horses, we strive to provide a pleasant experience that will linger in your mind long after you have left Latigo.
Located about 9,000 feet above sea level in vast pine and spruce forests, with sprawling aspen groves, huge high meadows, gurgling streams and beaver ponds, our riding, hiking, skiing and vistas are spectacular indeed.
Horseback Riding In Spectacular Scenery!
From our herd of 80 horses you will be assigned your own horse for the duration of your stay. We match the horse and rider according to ability, physical requirements and temperament, teaching you how to ride well and how to enjoy horseback riding as a life-long sport.
Winter at Latigo Ranch is just as fun-filled as Summer and Fall. We have all sorts of activities, such as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and sledding/tubing.
To enhance your guest experience, skiing and other recreational activities are 
often conducted on part of thousands of acres under special use permit to Latigo in the Routt and Arapaho National Forests. Latigo Ranch guests who have skied all over Colorado proclaim that Latigo offers some of the finest cross-country skiing available in Colorado.
We machine groom 60 km of track, covering varied terrain from flat beginning track to challenging advanced. All of our track is groomed for both classic and skating techniques. For backcountry or telemark aficionados, we are surrounded by over 200 square miles of deep powder in the National Forest.
Our cabins are modern log structures, fully-carpeted with electric heat. We have 1 & 3 bedroom units, each with a sitting room and fireplace or woodburning stove, refrigerator and daily maid service.
The Ranch kitchen provides a varied menu of delicious cuisine, planned with your entire week in mind. We know many of you are becoming more health conscious, so we offer light fare along with hearty items at each meal.
"I'm bored" is a phrase you don't hear from children at Latigo Ranch. Structured activities throughout the day keep youngsters occupied and entertained. While parents are on their trail rides, children are supervised in educational activities.
We encourage children to participate in all of the week's activities - trail rides, square-dancing, nature walks, swimming, fishing, hayrides, etc. They may eat meals with their family, or they may eat at a separate table with their peers and counselors.
Our intent at Latigo is to give you flexibility and freedom. For some activities, parents want to be with their children; at other times they would like to be able to do things separately. The children's program is not mandatory.
As owners, we want above all to facilitate the best in quality relationships among our guests and staff. We are here because we enjoy serving people, and do all we can to select and train staff who identify with our primary goal. Our program is set up to help you enjoy yourself and each other, and numerous features of our environment help us toward our goal.
