Li'l Hoss
Let me introduce you to Li'l Hoss! This little backpack from JanSport's Heritage Series is tough and roomy. As all of the backpacks from the Heritage Series, Li'l Hoss carries JanSport's woven label from 1967. It is made of original weathered Denier Cordura fabric. It has one main compartment that zippers up with an antique brass metal zipper on the top. The Li'l Hoss has two pleated side gear pockets and one front pocket that snap shut. The adjustable seat belt webbing shoulder straps make it comfortable to carry.
Capacity is 1400 cubic inches and is 15.5" x 13" x 9". Available in various colors.
One of this backpack's main features is the leather bottom. It enables this backpack to be rugged and not fall over.
Since Li'l Hoss comes from JanSport's Heritage Series Collection, it has a story to tell. As the story goes, as Nixon was leaving office in 1974, JanSport introduced a series of packs that the country could depend on. Their revolutionary reinforced leather bottomed packs fed the country's need for stability, reliability and durability. You be the judge - were they overstating the importance? They would like to think they made a difference and I think with Li'l Hoss, you can still count on that.
I was able to take Lil' Hoss on a one day backpacking journey and packed it up with all my days essentials. The pack doesn't have a hydration pak which makes this backpack excellent for short outtings, a back-to-school backpack or a carry-on item when traveling. It did however have side pouches where my 16 fl. oz. water bottle fit perfectly because of their depth. The bag is callapsable and overall a very basic, but rugged backpack that is sure to last a long, long time.
Now, if you want a bigger version of this backpack, JanSport has Hoss they'd like to introduce you to.
