Outdoor Toesocks - Injinji

I remember when toe socks were popular in the 1970’s. I don’t remember that there was actually a true purpose for the socks other than they were a bright rainbow color, fun, slumber party sock worn by young girls. They made quite a fashion statement, too!

Well, toe socks have come a long way. The fun hasn’t totally been squeezed out of them, because the rainbow colors still exist, however, the purpose of the toe socks has been redesigned. The advancements made by Injinji to ensure an exhilarating fit and wear is in their performance and outdoor socks. There is a true purpose in their socks. The socks are light weight and seamless,

Gnar - Teva

Gnar from TevaThe thing about water activities, be it kayaking, water  rafting or other water activities, is that  just as much time can be spent on dry land lugging stuff around from one spot to another. The Gnar from Teva is made for those rugged activities that take you in and out of the water. It’s great to be able to rely on a shoe rather than a sandal when the day calls for&

Light Hiker from Thorlos

Light Hiker 736 Walnut Heather

I own a lot of performance socks and Thorlo's are among my favorites.  They fit well and provide good support, their moderate cushioning absorbs some shock of hiking and they wick moisture from the feet which is especially noticeably in good breathable boots.  The socks tested was a light sock.  The Thorlos hiking socks are available with moderate cushion and thick cushion.

I can't say I'm a big fan of the look, but when I wear them the appearance is the least of my concerns.

Airforce 1 - X-Socks

When first introduced to the X-Socks line of socks, I thought this was something right out of a Terminator flick.  I guess because they're presented in such a way that leaves you intrigued.  After a quick overview of the sock I was even more confused, or surprised I should say, because I never knew the thought process that went into making a sock just right for trekking!

Renegade GTX Mid from LOWA

I had been gearing up for some one-day hikes and anxiously awaiting a highly recommended hiking boot from Lowa, the Renegade GTX.   I immediately noticed what a great looking and light boot they were.

After some hikes and many miles later, these boots remained quite comfortable.  They fit perfect right out of the box and did not take the normal time it usually takes for me to break in a pair of hiking boots.
