DURANGO Bluegrass MELTDOWN

On the Line-up:Town Mountain, new sound from Asheville, North CarolinaThe Durango Bluegrass Meltdown is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and preservation of bluegrass music as an American art form.  Since 1995, we have been presenting a unique experience in Durango, the gem of Southwest Colorado.  The Meltdown features three unique, intimate main stages, a super jam, barn dance (Durango style), Saturday night Celtdown (for all you closet Celtoids!), and music flowing from bars, restaurants, coffee houses, and downtown streets and sidewalks --all within walking distance.  Our headquarters are located in the historic Strater Hotel where jamming and merriment goes on into the wee hours of the morning, as the cowboys and miners would have liked it!

EARTHFEST BOULDER

Earthfest Boulder

is a complete celebration of sustainability and community on Sunday, April 25th, 2010 in honor of Earth Day. Earthfest is a combination of activities including, the EarthDay5k (a 5th annual Bolder Boulder qualifier), the 5th Annual Dirt Day Adventure Challenge and Expo, and the Kids and Adults Cruiser Parade. In addition, there are hands-on family activities, such as: interaction with wild animals and leave-no-trace clinics, renewable energy demos, live music, fly fishing and climbing classes, and plenty of good local organic food!

Another innovative component of the Earthfest Boulder concept is the community-wide carbon reduction pledge campaign on the day of the event. You – along with other attendees, competitors, and participating businesses and organizations - will be encouraged to pledge to reduce your carbon footprint through a few simple actions using ClimateSmart's online tool. Pledges will be tracked so you can understand how your actions have a profound impact on the sustainability of the community and local environment.
