Rock climbing can be tremendously fun and a great way to exercise, but you don't always have time, or want the hassle of scheduling a full day's trip for outdoor rock climbing. And with the Mile High winters, year-round climbing is not necessarily an option unless we're talking indoors. Here's a list of three great indoor climbing spots in the Metro Denver area.
The Spot Bouldering GymBoulder, Colorado
I think the site's pictures alone will make you want to visit The Spot Gym, which declares itself as the best facility in the country dedicated to bouldering. The Spot has freestanding boulders up to 18 feet high with various textures and forms including Hueco, Fontainebleau, and Yosemite surfaces. For 10,000+ ft/sq of air conditioned climbing, The Spot Bouldering Gym is a great place in the area to visit.
The Gym is located on Prairie Avenue in Boulder. In the summer, The Spot is open on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10am to 10pm; on Tuesday from 7am to 10pm; and on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 8pm. For more information you can call 303-379-8806 or email shout@thespotgym.com.

ThrillseekersDenver, ColoradoThrillseekers, Denver, CO
Located on South Broadway in Denver, Thrillseekers is the place to go for daring adventure and loads of fun. The facility is filled with wall after wall of fun climbing surfaces. But you don't have to take my word for it: you can check out the fun pictures on the center's website. If those don't make you want to get up off your feet, I'm not sure what will.

Open seven days a week, with extended hours to accommodate late schedules, Thrillseekers is a great indoor climbing place to frequent. For more information, you can call 303-733-8810 or email info@thrillseekers.cc.

Denver Bouldering ClubDenver, Colorado
Located on 2nd Avenue in Denver, the Bouldering Club is a new organization offering Denver Bouldering Club24/7 access to indoor rock climbing resources. The center opened its doors to the public on June 10 of this year, meaning climbing surfaces are still fresh and ready to be roughed up. You can schedule a tour of the facility before becoming a club member to make sure you like the atmosphere and climbing offerings.

If you really want to get into a regular routine of local indoor climbing, Denver Bouldering Club would be a great place to join. You can call 206-984-0404 or email
Denverboulderingclub@gmail.com for more information and details on club memberships.
