Gnar - Teva

Gnar from TevaThe thing about water activities, be it kayaking, water  rafting or other water activities, is that  just as much time can be spent on dry land lugging stuff around from one spot to another. The Gnar from Teva is made for those rugged activities that take you in and out of the water. It’s great to be able to rely on a shoe rather than a sandal when the day calls for being in and out of the water periodically. For one, the  Gnar's lining is well cushioned and provides great support around the ankles for those unexpected hikes. The other thing is that the tongue on the shoe has an extra thick  cushion, which doesn't soak up any water, yet provides extra protection and comfort. Last, but not least, the rubber on the outsole provides great traction which is a must around slippery rocks. If you put your hands on the dots of the outsole, you can feel the stickiness. These shoes are great when your stepping in and around muddy water, which is another great advantage , especially when  around unknown terrain and broken tree limbs and other hidden debris.

In the water, the shoes drained really well and kept nice and light. That’s mainly due to the mesh material used and the placement of the drainage holes.  I didn’t care to tie the laces and wore them untied.  They stayed on just as good (at least it was good for the stuff I was doing).  Some may desire the good ole velcro closure type or may just tie the laces up like they’re suppose to!

All in all, the Gnar is a great in-and-out of the water shoe that doesn’t hold you back from what you want to do. Heck, as good as they drain and as good as they look, they’re ready to get dressed with a pair of jeans and off to the burger joint we go!
