Cuchara Mountain ski resort is located in south east Colorado. The terrain really does not focus on advanced skiing, but it does offer it. The ski runs at Cuchara are focused on beginner and intermediate terrain. The closest towns are La Veta and Walsenburg. There ski school is exceptional and they offer day care for half day or all day.

If you have a preschooler they even have lessons for them. The Day Lodge has great cafeteria food, but for a more exciting cuisine you can dine at the Cuchara Mountain Grill, Switchback Saloon, and tasty barbecue at the Deck. Cuchara is a small ski resort for people seeking a relaxing time in Colorado snow.
